Maplets – The Offline Maps App App Reviews

A good app, but some very broad use maps including MTA NYC Manhattan Bus map were years stale. I notified them to check all MTA maps, they only did one. If the maps arent up to date, they lose their value, and although prompt service, incomplete.

I love this app - it fills in all the gaps that Google Maps neglects. AND many are GPS enabled. Which means you can have your location shown on a cached map when in the backcountry for example, no cell signal required. Interface is pretty good too.

Have used it over 5 years. Most recently I used it to navigate inside Fredricksburg & Spotsylvania National Military Park even though there was almost no cell phone coverage inside the park. Was able to find my way around key places of interest easily. This app has earned itself a permanent place on my phone!

Too many times I look down to see where on the trail Im on and find my locator between two trails. I quit the app and it persists in telling me Im way off trail, bushwhacking, while Im on a well blazed, well known trail. This could lead to a major problem if I had to rely on this app.

Its great to have access to random maps for all over the world. Its really awesome that you can open those maps and orient yourself to know exactly where you are on that map. Really great app, works really well!

Used it in Seattle, Boston, Glacier Nat Park. Hands down one of the best ideas and well implemented apps out there. Sent developer feedback on bug, he quickly fixed the problem. If you travel or hike or sightsee .... This is a must have app. Not every place is covered, but when they are... Super helpful.

By far the easiest and most organized way to retrieve local maps

I have been so impressed with this app! I have requested maps for 3 local hiking/biking areas near me and all of them have been added. Very responsive and so great to be able to get your own little spots. Thanks!

Perfect. It looks like the poor reviews are due to misunderstanding the use and purpose of this app. Works flawlessly, use it all the time!

Most maps are great with "GPS" like tracking while some cant. Also some maps are really poor quality or just plain wrong. Most are very good.

No maps for my region of the US.

I use this every time I travel. It is most useful as a way to navigate large airports. It has helped me reduce the stress when I am landing, and I can pre plan my way to other gates, baggage, etc.

Really useful, I downloaded all the maps near my home when I got it, and now whenever I am lost, I can turn on just the gps in my phone and see where I am without burning my battery. Cool!

Know where you are, when you need to. If they dont have the map, you can send them a link to the pdf and theyll put it on there (in a fair amount of turn around time (the map I requested took a couple of weeks))!! A must-have if youre not messing around when it comes to the great out of doors!!

Very convenient for traveling and trip/hike planning. Would give it 5 if it would enable printing of maps and/or forwarding links via email or SMS text.

This is an awesome App! Ive used it on a number of trails and having GPS location displayed on a map gives me complete confidence on unfamiliar trails and still know that Im not getting myself in trouble. Highly recommended.

Markets gives u access to maps & info for municipal parks, regional attractions, bike paths, airports and more. Download when on wifi for use offline. Many maps are geo-referenced so you can see where u are. Great stuff!

Ive used this app for several years, and its a great tool for finding maps for places Id like to travel to. The app is inexpensive, and it gives you access to a huge database of maps. I used it most recently to help plan a trip up through western Canada, but my iPad has maps of places from North Carolina to Arizona. While I still like having paper maps, Maplets is great for getting instant gratification on the maps you want now.

Ive used this app several times that Rausch Creek off-road park. It works great, I have no complaints :-)

This will save me a LOT of trouble researching and downloading and buying maps. Soooooo useful. Thank you!!!!
